FMC Aquatic is a nonprofit, year-round competitive swim team established when two clubs — Ultimate Swimming and WEST Swim Club — merged on September 23, 2019. Our mission is to advance the sport of swimming throughout Illinois.
We provide professional coaching and swim instruction for athletes of all ages and abilities, with a strong emphasis on developing sound technique, lifelong skills, and personal excellence. We train at the premier FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Illinois — home of TYR Pro Swim Series, IHSA State Finals, and World Aquatics Swimming World Cup events.

Our team is organized into 7 training groups matched to age, ability, and competitive goals. Each group has dedicated coaches and practices in our 50-meter or 25-yard pools.
Tryouts are required to ensure every swimmer is placed in the right environment for growth. We generally hold tryouts in early April and late July.

The Illinois High School Association Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving State Finals are held annually at FMC in February and November.
FMC has hosted the TYR Pro Swim Series for 5+ years, showcasing many of the world's top swimmers on our Olympic competition pool.
In 2025, FMC welcomed the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup, bringing both national and international athletes from around the globe.

Our coaches bring decades of elite competitive and coaching experience, with alumni including World Champions, Olympic Trials finalists, and NCAA Champions.
42+ years of coaching (39 as Head Coach/Director). ASCA World Clinic presenter. Influenced the design of FMC Natatorium. Known for developing swimmers at the highest levels in all events, from 8-and-Under to elite nationals. Alumni: Kevin Cordes — USA National Team, World Championship Gold Medalist, American record holder.
Nearly 30 years of coaching experience at all levels. Has guided Illinois age-group, senior state, IHSA, NCSA, USA Swimming Winter Junior National, and Summer National qualifiers and finalists. Coached IHSA State Champions and multiple national top-16 age group award recipients.
25+ years as both Head Coach and Senior Assistant Coach. Developed many national-level athletes and High School All-Americans. Works with the 13-14, Senior, and National Teams at FMC, known for positively influencing young competitive swimmers.
Specializes in backstroke, middle distance, and distance for the National Team. Started coaching with St. Charles Swim Team. Former competitive swimmer from Brantford, Ontario, Canada with deep knowledge of elite distance training methodology.
Part of the FMC coaching staff since the day FMC Natatorium opened its doors. A consistent and dedicated presence across our age-group and developmental programs.

Interested in joining FMC Aquatic? Athletes must complete a tryout to ensure placement in the right training group for their age and ability.
Fill out the FMC Aquatic Interest Form at fmcaquatic.com under the "Tryouts / Evaluations" tab. You'll be added to the email notification list.
Tryouts are typically held in early April and late July. Coaches evaluate swimmers to determine the best group placement for success.
Once placed, complete team registration, obtain a USA Swimming membership, and register for your group's practice schedule.
